Project Name

Location
Panama City Beach, FL
Owner
The City of Panama City Beach
Project Details
Bay Parkway Phase 2 is a 2.71-mile section that connects the existing Bay Parkway at Pier Park Drive to Nautilus Street and Panama City Beach Parkway. The CWR Contracting construction team handled the construction of the roadway, stormwater ponds, drainage systems, sidewalks, force main, and a multi-use path. This path provides a safe space for pedestrians and cyclists to travel along the busy corridor. The Bay Parkway Phase 2 project has made significant improvements to the infrastructure of Panama City Beach, providing a safer and more efficient route for locals and visitors alike.
This upgraded route starts at the end of Phase 1, and the improvements of this project are designed to alleviate congestion in the high-traffic area of Panama City Beach. The project was completed in December 2019 and open to traffic in January 2020. The new roadway includes six lanes, wider shoulders, and turn lanes at major intersections. In addition, there are five new stormwater ponds along the route that will help to improve water quality in St. Andrews Bay. The project also included the construction of a ten-foot-wide multi-use path that runs parallel to the roadway.
