The Asphalt Distributor Operator will operate the asphalt distributor truck applying liquid asphalt prior to an area being paved.  Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Will regulate screed temperatures and asphalt flow rates.
  • Will fill asphalt and burner fuel tanks.
  • Responsible for loading and offloading bituminous material.
  • Responsible for spraying bituminous material on project sites in accordance with job specifications.
  • Shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt
  • General clean up around job site
  • Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
  • Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
  • Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.

  • Work directly with Plant Foreman to ensure safe and efficient operation of plant
  • Assist on all levels of asphalt production as needed
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
  • Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
  • Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.

  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.

  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other route maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
