The asphalt equipment operator will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor. Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Will secure attachments to equipment as needed to perform duties.
  • Ensure equipment is operating and performing at appropriate specifications.
  • Transport materials between locations as needed or required.
  • Shovel dirt, gravel, and asphalt
  • General clean up around job site
  • Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
  • Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
  • Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.

  • Process field data, coordinate field staff, and interface with operations and project management
  • Verify accuracy of CAD and survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites
  • Schedule layout of projects in logical steps and budget time and resources required to meet deadlines
  • Obtain and review CAD drawings from owners/engineers/general contractors to verify accuracy
  • Perform construction staking and layout from work up of CAD files
  • Perform construction engineering calculations, topographic and as-built surveys, quantity verification surveys and cross sections of sites, and layout of curbs, centerlines, boundaries, slopes, pipe, and structures
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position:
  • Knowledge of GPS, robotic, and machine control equipment, as well as CAD based computer software required
  • Must have strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, as well as CAD software

The plant operator trainee will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor.  Will perform work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsible for manufacturing asphalt products according to mix design and customer jobsite specifications.
  • Perform pre and post shift inspections and reports condition of plant for items needing repair.
  • Operate controls to batch material.
  • Reads/writes delivery tickets, as well as issue delivery tickets to truck drivers.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, drivers, and management.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position:
  • Previous asphalt plant operator experience is not required
  • Applicants must be able to pass background checks, as well as a pre-employment drug screen.
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of roadway construction material and construction grades preferred.
  • On-the-job training will be provided to the trainee at a level dependent upon the applicant’s previous experience and willingness to learn.
  • Must have the ability to acquire understanding and absorb new information (a quick study).
  • Must have the ability to work in a team setting and establish collaborative peer relationship.
  • Ability to focus on key priority, juggles multiple projects, and manages time effectively.
  • Must have the ability to maintain poise and composure under heavy pressure from supervisors and/or company officers.
  • Must have the ability to adapt and adjust quickly to changing priorities or work demands without adverse impact on performance or team dynamics.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal communication.

Education and Experience:
  • Ideal candidate should have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ideal candidate should have six months to one year experience in construction.

The mechanic will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor.  Will perform work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
  • Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.
  • Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects.
  • Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers’ specifications.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other route maintenance work on equipment and vehicles.
  • Read and understand operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings.
  • Deliver and install parts on equipment at the job site, as well as load and unload materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position:
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 pounds.
  • Must have a safe driving record and satisfactory MVR, within Company MVR policy guidelines.
  • Must have the ability to acquire understanding and absorb new information (a quick study).

The asphalt spreader operator will follow directions instructions and specifications as determined by supervisor. Will work and operate equipment in a safe manner and adhere to all safety and environmental rules.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Ensure equipment is spreading material at appropriate specifications
  • Ensure equipment is operating and performing at appropriate specifications.
  • General clean up around job site
  • Monitor gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure machine is working properly
  • Perform daily maintenance checks
  • Ensure all tools are stored properly at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for notifying department lead of any potential safety or equipment issues immediately.
  • Responsible for following processes and procedures correctly.
  • Responsible for wearing appropriate clothing, shoes, and personnel protective equipment.
