John Harper

President & Senior Vice President of Construction Partners Inc.

John’s 25-plus-year career as an asphalt and aggregate material producer began and continues to flourish at Wiregrass. Under the tutelage of his father, the Company’s founder, John has worked in all aspects of the industry from asphalt crew worker, project estimator to manager. Under his leadership the Company has grown from 3 asphalt production plants in SE Alabama to 13 asphalt plants and 5 vertically integrated aggregate facilities located throughout Alabama.

While helping to build Wiregrass Construction, John has also engaged with industry and governmental groups at the regional and national level, currently serving as Chairman of the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA), President of Alabama Roadbuilders Association (ARBA) in 2015, and President Alabama Asphalt Paving Association (APA) in 2005.

John is also committed to ensuring the industry has a trained pool of workers and leaders for the future. For John and the Wiregrass Construction Company, the core principles are family, safety for all Wiregrass employees and Alabama’s traveling public. John received his B.S. in finance from Auburn University and currently resides with his family in Dothan, AL.

Brett Armstrong

Chief Operations Officer & Senior Vice President of Construction Partners Inc.

Brett has more than 30 years of experience in the asphalt and aggregate production industries. This deep knowledge base and successful management of complex projects has helped Wiregrass maintain the quality reputation it enjoys today. Brett oversees all operations, while developing and maintaining a work environment to ensure sustainability and growth.

Brett joined Wiregrass Construction in 2000 as the Area Manager in Montgomery and oversaw a greenfield operation develop into a leading asphalt producer. He became Chief Operations Manager in 2010 and has proven himself as a leader and mentor in the industry.

Brett served as the President of the Alabama Asphalt Association in 2018. He also serves as the Alabama state board member for the National Asphalt Pavement Association.

Brett has been instrumental in management of the growth of Wiregrass Construction and helping it become a leader in the asphalt industry within the state of Alabama. He received his B.S. in Civil Engineering from Auburn University and currently resides with his family in Eufaula, AL.

Greg Hoffman

Chief Financial Officer

Greg joined Wiregrass in 2009 as our Chief Financial Officer with over a decade of previous accounting, auditing and corporate financial experience. Greg is responsible for the development and execution of the financial strategy supporting Wiregrass’ growth and business plans. He spearheaded the successful integration of multiple acquisitions and helped drive efficiency throughout the company.

Mr. Hoffman has over 15 years of experience in financial management roles in the construction industry. He has been principally involved in the successful acquisition and integration of more than 10 companies in several different industries. Prior to joining Wiregrass Construction, he was Vice President of Operations for Staples, Inc. and was responsible for the supply chain infrastructure servicing 4 states in the southeastern United States.

He currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Wiregrass United Way based in Dothan, Alabama.

Mr. Hoffman is a Certified Public Accountant and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He currently resides with his family in Dothan, AL.

Brandon Owens

Operations Vice President

Brandon Owens has over 20 years of experience in the heavy highway construction and site work industry. Joining the Wiregrass Construction team in 2004, Brandon began his career as an estimator in the Montgomery Division, then became the Birmingham area manager and now currently holds the position of Vice President of Operations. Over the years, Brandon has developed a strong expertise in operations, scheduling, negotiations, and customer relations. He is actively involved with multiple trade organizations within the asphalt industry. Brandon received his Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Auburn University and currently resides with his family in Birmingham, AL.

Steve Vandeventer

Vice President of Asphalt & Aggregate Facilities

Steve has over 25 years’ experience in the production of road construction materials in the asphalt, crushed stone, and sand & gravel sectors. He holds a B.S. in Geology from James Madison University, and began his career in Quality Control as a technician, testing/designing asphalt and aggregate mixtures. His knowledge of local and regional geology has proven invaluable throughout his career in determining quality sources for aggregate production. Steve currently resides in the Montgomery area.

Tim Beguin

Safety Director

Tim has been an integral part of the Wiregrass Construction team since 2009. Our people are our number one asset and nothing is more important than making sure they and those driving on our Alabamian roads are safe. Tim focuses on creating a work environment where safety, quality, and productivity are managed in the best interest of our customers, employees, and the public. Tim received a B.S. in Safety Administration from Athens State University. He currently resides with his family in Decatur, AL.

Kirk Barker

North East Alabama Manager

Kirk manages our northeast Alabama division covering all operations in DeKalb Co, Marshall Co, Jackson Co, and Cullman Co. The Northeast Division asphalt plants are located in Guntersville, Scottsboro, and Fort Payne. Kirk is a graduate of the University of Alabama in Birmingham with a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and a graduate of Jacksonville State University. He primarily works out of the Northeast Alabama headquarters office in Guntersville, AL.

Rodney Hendrix

South Alabama Manager

Rodney manages our southern region division covering all operations south of the Montgomery County line. Additionally Rodney manages our asphalt material plants in Ariton, Riverfalls and Brantley. Rodney attended Auburn University. He primarily works out of our southern headquarters office in Ariton, AL.

Garrett Pass

Central Alabama Manager

Garrett manages our central Alabama region division comprised of all counties between Jefferson and Montgomery Counties. Additionally Garrett is in charge of our plants in Montgomery, Calera, Shorter and Clanton. Garrett primarily splits his time between our Montgomery and Birmingham offices. Garrett has a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Auburn University.
