History

Wiregrass Construction Company, Inc. (WCC) was founded in 1965 by Henry J. Harper. When the company began, it specialized in surface treatment and asphalt production in South Alabama.

John L. Harper became VP of Estimating/Project Management in 1988 and assumed the role of President in 1996. In 1999 under his leadership, WCC expanded into Montgomery as well as other parts of Southeast Alabama.

In 2002, WCC became a wholly owned subsidiary of Construction Partners Inc. Since then WCC has expanded throughout the state of Alabama. WCC is a progressive highway construction company specializing in asphalt paving for state and federal highway projects, as well as commercial and private site work. Along with the National Asphalt Pavement Association, WCC is a leader in research and education in the asphalt paving industry and produces asphalt that adheres to the LEED guidelines of sustainability.
